On July 17th of this year Rex and I were given the honor to go to one of the highest places in the Flathead in Northwest Montana to make a prophetic declaration and join in worship, and prayer for the place we called home for more than ten years. That is the beautiful Flathead Valley that includes Whitefish, Columbia Falls, and Kalispell, Montana.
Geographically, the portion of the Continental Divide located in Northwest Montana is the headwaters to the Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic Oceans. Historically, this area was the location of such a tremendous release of glacial water that it was responsible for carving out the Columbia Gorge and other river basins. The Flathead Valley where we lived is surrounded by mountain views including into Glacier National Park, and has the largest natural lake west of the continental divide called Flathead Lake.
Pastors Brad Brittsan & Curtis Konecky of Christian Life Fellowship led two groups of people up to the mountaintops on July 17th. We went to the top of Blacktail Mountain near Lakeside, and another group went up to the top of Big Mountain near Whitefish.
We began by singing songs of worship and praise to our wonderful Father and creator and lifting our voices to exalt His son Jesus. I was personally overwhelmed by His presence when Steve Morgan led us in worship as we sang, His righteousness is like a mighty mountain, His faithfulness reaches to the skies, as we looked out over the valley with an eagles view of things.
Both groups had the same written prayers of repentance, declarations of holiness, establishment of His dominion over the Flathead Valley, and total dependence on the Father. We declared the Flathead Valley as a place of refuge, that the body of Christ will be unified, that healing would flow out of the headwaters to the entire nation, and that the youth of the valley would be arrows in His bow to accurately hit their targets and that they will radically take a stand for Jesus Christ.
On each mountain we had three trumpets blow, and on Blacktail mountain I felt it was significant that those trumpets were blown by a man, woman, and young teenager.
So this was how we began our week in Montana. The church told us that it was significant that we were there to participate in this with them and for the valley. But Rex and I also know that it was a God ordained time for us to be there for our own destiny and walk the Lord has planned for our future with Him.
We are so thankful to have been there. He is always the Faithful One!
